If Jesus Christ is not your Lord and Savior, God will judge you based on your goodness. Now how good of a person are you?
Have you ever stolen anything (a paper clip)? Have you ever told a white lie? Have you ever looked at a woman lustfully? What does that make you in God’s eyes? (Hint: a thief, liar, and an adulterer!)
If you sin just 5 sins a day (having a bad thought is a sin) and die at the age of 60, you would have committed: 5 (sins) X 60 (years) = 109,500 sins. If God kicked Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden after committing 1 sin, why would He allow you to spend eternity with Him when you have committed 109,500 sins; (a very conservative number). These are just three of the ten commandments and if you break just one of them you’ll be found guilty (James 2:10). Do you see your need for Christ? Do you see your need for His forgiveness?
“And Elijah came to all the people, and said, How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” (1 Kings 18:21).
God is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). He is rich in mercy and compassion and has provided the only way for you to be forgiven. The only way is Jesus Christ. He has invited you to come to him for a full pardon and receive the free gift of Eternal life. You cannot earn it, and you do not deserve it, but God is offering it to you as proof of His love for you. Jesus died to set you free, and then rose from death to be your Lord. If you will confess and forsake your sins (repent) and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, God will forgive you and you’ll pass from death to life. A transfer of power and ownership will occur and you will no longer belong to the ‘ruler of this earth’ that is Satan, but to Jesus Christ who will rule your life.
The Bible says, “For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved." (Romans 10:13). How do you call on the name of the Lord? The Bible says, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." (Romans 10:9-11).
Pray the following: Dear God. I come to You with a contrite and broken heart realizing what a wretched sinner I am. I have sinned against You. I am sorry. I repent of my sins and turn to You for forgiveness. I believe You died for all my sins and rose from the dead. I confess and receive Jesus Christ by faith as my Lord and Savior. Teach me Your ways and give me the desire to serve and live for You for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name Amen.
"Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:14-15).
